Die Hard 5 in Budapest Cinemas

Die Hard 5 in Budapest cinemasDie Hard 5, the newest film in the Die Hard series, also known as „A Good Day to Die Hard”, is soon coming to Budapest. The premiere will be on February 14th, so why not celebrate Valentines Day watching Bruce Willis in one of many Budapest cinemas?

The newest Die Hard film is not just any film. What makes it special is the fact that it has been recorded in Budapest, and even though the story takes place in Moscow, recordings are done in Budapest. In A Good Day to Die Hard the son of John McClane (Bruce Willis) gets into trouble in Moscow, and even though they are not exactly best friends, John McClane shows up to help his son.

If you know some Hungarian film stars the film is even more interesting, because among the actors in the film you can find Iván Kamarás, Attila Árpa , Zolee Ganxsta and Norbert Növényi. What is even cooler is that in the film you can see quite a lot of the famous attractions in Budapest, such as the Museum of Fine Arts, the dome of the Buda Castle and lots of smaller and bigger streets. There will for sure be much more, but these are just some of the sights I have noticed in the trailers available on the net. Check out this long version of the trailer yourself.

Do not forget to visit a cinema with original voices and subtitles, because that makes the experience much better. Just for your information the film lasts for 95 minutes.

  1. I watched the film two days ago in Allee Shopping Center in Budapest. As a big Budapest fan I spent every moment trying to recognize where every scene was recorded, and during the film I could see lots of street in the sixth and the seventh district of Budapest, I saw the Castle of Buda, the Hungarian Parliament, the Elisabeth bridge, Ferenciek square and lots of other sites… I enjoyed it a lot! Unfortunately that was what I could enjoy the most, because the film itself was not a good one. The story was poor and not at all as brilliant as the stories of some of the former Die Hard films. All in ll this is a film worth watching if you are a John McClane fan or if you love Budapest. If not, spend your time doing something else!
